COVID-19 Protocol Update

From the Elders of Cornerstone:
Dear Cornerstone Family:

As you are aware our sister Kathi Stewart has been diagnosed with Covid 19. We would ask you to take a moment to lift Kathi up in prayer and reach out to her and her family to make sure we take care of any needs they may have.

We continue to be concerned about the spread of the Corona virus if it gets a foothold within our congregation. If that were to happen we would again be forced to shut down in person worship. It is imperative that we do everything we can to prevent the spread of the virus within our family.

We have noticed people becoming lax in the protocols we have put in place and we want to take a moment to remind everyone that these protocols are designed to protect each other. This virus is extremely contagious and can quickly spread from one to two then to ten or twenty to forty or fifty. It is important we demonstrate to our members, children, and guests that we are making an effort to respect the intent of our local and state governments while reducing liability as much as possible. Most important of all it is loving your neighbor as yourself.

With that, we would ask if anyone in your household contracts Covid 19 that all members of the family stay home and quarantine for fourteen days after the infected person's symptoms began. Please join in the worship and bible studies via livestream.

Everyone is to have their temperatures taken as they enter the building and use hand sanitizer as they enter and exit the building. Masks are to be worn at all times. Masks are available at each entrance. We have noticed some not wearing masks at all or wearing them incorrectly. The mask should cover the nose and mouth. Masks should be left on at all times. Singing together carries the most risk so please do not lower your mask during the song service.

Do not remove the tape from the pews and choose seating directly behind others. Families may sit together but every other pew is to be left open to provide as much social distancing as possible. Try to keep at least 6 feet of distance between families.

We have stopped dismissing by rows but may have to resume that practice if people continue to gather in the foyer after services. Please restrain from handshakes and hugs. We ask you to maintain social distance as you exit and while outside the building.

We know it is difficult to keep our children away from each other but please watch out for your children and do all you can to keep them safe.

We understand everyone has different views about this virus. We are requiring these protocols be in place to make every effort to minimize the potential spread of the virus. Please be respectful of what we are asking. We each have a responsibility to one other.

We received testing data back from samples taken prior to the air purification system being installed and two weeks after it was placed into operation. We are pleased to share that the system is operating very well. Results showed a 90% reduction of mold on surfaces which would indicate an even higher level of efficacy in the actual airstream.

We have done everything we know to do to make our worship as safe as possible. Please join us in this effort so we can continue the blessing of in person worship. If you have any questions please let us know. We have asked Brother Mark Ringle to address the congregation this coming Sunday and we hope you will listen to his comments as a physician and brother in Christ.

Thanks to everyone who has made the effort to comply with what we have asked. We are grateful for each and every member of the Cornerstone family. Let's stay safe and do all we can to take care of each other.

We pray for God's protection through this time.
