Friday First - Confident in Our Faith

During January we are spending time in spiritual self examination. As we ask the question, Am I Rooted, we are looking at some probing questions while offering practical solutions to become more effective spiritually.
  • What are my habits?
  • Where are my thoughts?
  • How is my confidence?
  • Who am I following?
  • Am I constant in prayer?

What makes a great Christian? A strong Christian? A well rooted Christian is one who has allowed God to lead him or her through life … where their truth and confidence grow consistently. This is one who is moving toward being built up and established in the faith. When the storms, difficulties, and setbacks of life come, will you be able to stand?

On Sunday we’ll talk about spiritual confidence. Well rooted Christians are confident. Living with constant feelings of guilt does not inspire confidence. Some Christians feel like they are the kid in the principal’s office. Discouragement and doubt are fostered at every failure. This is no way to live. God has called on us to trust in His promises, assurances, and encouragement. The Father, Son, and the Spirit are all working hard to get you to heaven.

On Sunday we will:
  • Talk about the importance of our confident and who to place it in.
  • See how we can gain more confidence.
  • Learn how confidence helps us throughout life.

As you prepare for worship, please think about these questions.
  1. What is the difference between arrogance and confidence?
  2. If you are not confident in your salvation, you are not a strong Christian. Do you agree/disagree? Why?
  3. Why is confidence so vital to effective Christian living?
  4. What does it mean that you have entered into a covenant relationship with God?
  5. How does confidence help us as we anticipate our future on earth? In heaven?
