Welcome to Cornerstone

There is nothing like the feeling of finishing the last leg of an uphill hike and staring out onto the view from above. Well, here we are at the top of a hill. We’ve arrived at our new building and we’ve assembled together to “encourage each other as the day draws near.” (Hebrews 10.25) We are coming together to praise God for who He is first—and for the numerous ways that He has blessed us even through all of the difficulties that 2020 has thrown at us. We have parried Satan’s attacks. We have pressed forward in faith. Here we are. Another victory on our way to our promised ultimate victory. Take a moment to look around and breathe it in. This is an occasion for rejoicing and praise. 

While it’s true that this new building is just that—a building made with hands—what it represents is so much more. It is a visual reminder of the charity of God. We can’t deny the hand of God in all of this. From the perfect negotiating climate for obtaining the building…to the loan officer that worked with us, who happens to be a member of the church, by the way…to the willing hearts of service from each member of our family who has fought alongside with us to get to here…let’s take a moment to give God the credit for this.

Further, the opportunities that are now in our hands. We can grow far beyond what was possible in the building on Bigger Rd. With this new blessing, we will be empowered to bring many more souls to the throne of God’s grace. It is the belief of this writer, if I may say that if we move in faith, we’ll see many hearts turned over to Christ in the near future and many new members come to work alongside us in this effort to expand the kingdom of God here in our church at Cornerstone. Actually, this has already begun. We’ve added several families and baptized a handful of new converts even before our reunion at the new building. Can you feel the momentum? 

So, now, reader—first I want to say. Welcome to Cornerstone. Same family. Same devotion to Christ…but with a new location, plenty of room to grow and a rekindled zeal for the Lord. There’s revival, restoration and new growth on the horizon. Will you join us in taking hold of these blessings? Let’s move together in the same kind of faith that we see in the first century church and shine the light of God brighter than ever before.
