On Monday evening the nation was rocked by a leak of the draft ruling of the United States Supreme Court that could provide evidence that the landmark 1973 ruling, Roe v. Wade will be overturned. For Christians, there is much cause for optimism. But not all are pleased. Some have said this is a fearful time as they feel the rights of women will be trampled upon. And others have once again brought up the idea that Christians have made abortion their pet issue as a cover for misogynistic, patriarchal bias that enjoys oppressing women. One writer I found even said that since Jesus or Paul did not specifically bring up the issue of abortion that it must not be that big of a deal and that Christians should stop obsessing over it.
So what would Jesus say about abortion? It is true that there are no recorded, specific teachings of Jesus regarding abortion. Does this mean He was not concerned about it? Any assertion that he did not care is just an assumption. John 20.30-31 says there were many things Jesus spoke about that were never recorded. So … is His silence permissive?
During our time together we will take a look at four of Jesus’ teachings that make it clear that the idea of having an abortion would be unthinkable … for any true disciple of His.
On Sunday we will:

During our time together we will take a look at four of Jesus’ teachings that make it clear that the idea of having an abortion would be unthinkable … for any true disciple of His.
On Sunday we will:
- Take a look at how Jesus viewed Old Testament Scripture.
- See His high regard for children.
- Seek to understand His application of the second greatest command.
- See how abortion clearly contradicts His teaching on self-denial and sacrifice.
As you prepare for worship on Sunday, please give consideration to these questions:
- Why do you think so many are hesitant to bring up the matter of abortion? Why is it become off limits? From what perspective do you think we need to view this matter? Not just politics, … but…?
- Why is it so important we be mindful of the way we come across as we discuss the matter of abortion?
- What do you think life will look like in a post-roe world?
- What are some things we can do to serve those who find themselves with an unexpected pregnancy?
- What are some organizations you know of that you can get involved with in supporting adoption and services to help those contemplating abortion?

Since it is true that God in human form didn't address abortion or other positions of choosing that could divide brethren then then opinions of brethren divide the church. People can have a sound conscious on either side of the isle but God judges the motive and reason. The husband has power over the wife's body and the wife over the husband's. The government doesn't have control over individuals bodies except enlisted men and women under contract. Men can't be forced to have a vasectomy or punished for spilling seed unless it's done against the will of God. Fornication and Adultery is the root problem of abortion and complacency towards life in the womb. God's Judgement will begin in the church he died for and remove all hypocrites that use double standards for sin. He will send Holy Angels to separate those that offend and practice iniquity in their hearts and decisions. No one is above God. Christians prefer a modern day Barabbas over the Creator of mankind. Matthew 7:21 will manifest itself to all who truly think they are so safe. No one is safe on the day of Judgement. Maybe you will start learning how to tremble before Almighty God now before he comes. He's coming back with vengeance and wrath upon the sons and daughters of disobedience. Better check yourself. Better do like Hezekiah was told to do because Hebrews 9:27 is coming for all of us. Better tremble if your arrogance will let you. Jesus was right to call many hypocrites.
