What Does It Really Mean to Live for the Kingdom?

Have you ever felt like your spiritual fire has faded? Like you’re going through the motions, but not really moving forward?

That’s exactly what we’re addressing this Sunday at Cornerstone as we close out our July sermon series, “The Kingdom Is Everything.”

We’ve seen how Jesus is the Savior of mercy, rescuing us by grace (Titus 3). We’ve learned that the Kingdom belongs to the desperate, the ones who admit their need (Luke 4). We’ve heard the invitation of the King, and how it demands a faithful response (Matthew 22).

But now it all comes down to one simple question: If the Kingdom really is everything… are we living like it?

This Sunday, we’ll explore Colossians 3:1-4, where we are called to live like we’ve already been raised with Christ. It’s a wake-up call to shift our hearts, minds, and habits toward Heaven:

  • To seek what is above
  • To set our minds on eternal things
  • To die to self
  • And to live for the glory of the King

If you’ve been feeling stuck, tired, or spiritually distracted… this message is for you.

It’s not about guilt. It’s about resurrection. It’s about remembering who you are, who your King is, and how to move forward with purpose. We’ll also share a remarkable story of courage and rescue during the recent Texas floods… one that illustrates the urgency and conviction we’re called to as citizens of the Kingdom.

Join us this Sunday. Worship begins at 10:30 AM Come early. Bring someone with you. Let’s reignite the fire together … and live like Christ really is our life.
  1. What does it look like to “seek the things above” in everyday life?
  2. How does your mindset reveal where your heart is focused?
  3. In what ways do we struggle to “die to self,” and what helps us surrender?
  4. Why is it important to remember that Christ is not just part of our life—but our life?
  5. How can the hope of appearing with Christ in glory shape your priorities this week?
