I recently came across the following reasons to praise God:
- Praise takes our mind off our problems and shortcomings and helps us focus on God.
- Praise should be an important part of our daily spiritual meditation.
- Praise causes us to consider and appreciate God’s character.
- Praise lifts our perspective from the earthly to the heavenly.
We have so much to be thankful for. God has given us life. He sustains our basic needs. He provides us with loved ones who bring us companionship throughout life. He has allowed many of us to experience the joy of children and grandchildren. He has filled our life with many pleasant blessings that bring us comfort and peace. And, most importantly, He has brought us salvation through the work of His Son. Truly every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change, James 1.17.
Our lives should be full of gratitude!
Today is a great opportunity to praise God for His wondrous works. In both Testaments, the Biblical writers send a resounding message of praise to our Mighty God for His incredible creation. O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works, Psalm 104.24, 31.

We serve a mighty, perfect, and awesome God who personally cares for us. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts! Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the LORD! For he commanded and they were created, Psalm 148.1-5.

Praising God is the ultimate purpose for humanity on earth. Likewise, praise to God is not limited to human beings. For all creation is called on to praise God.
Thanks, Allen, for these solid reasons to give God praise.
