Friday First - Reconciled

The one who trusts in the Lord is blessed. He will continue to bear fruit even during the difficult times of life. This is who we need to desire to be. A person who stands firm in a twisted world. This is why we are focusing this year on being rooted in Christ. We want to learn how to stand firm as everything around us is influencing and affecting our lives and the lives of those we love. Let’s commit to diving deeper into our faith and devotion to God.

During December we’ll be focusing on what God requires. God has left no person with any doubt as to his expectations, Micah 6.8. We inherently understand what is good. God wants us to do justice, exhibit lovingkindness, and walk humbly with Him. Over the next few weeks we’ll be covering these principles in depth.

On Sunday, as we study together we want to focus on Paul’s writing in Colossians 1.19-23. Here, we are reminded of Jesus’ work of deliverance and reconciliation so that we might be holy, faultless, and blameless before Him. We are also reminded of our own personal responsibility to be willing and active participants in the process. We must continue to choose Jesus. Will we continue to receive and apply the message? Will we move with a desire for self-examination and application?

On Sunday we will discuss:
  • What it means to be reconciled
  • What reconciliation means for you, in your past, present, and future.

As you prepare for worship, please think about these questions.
  • How did your relationship with God change upon your coming to Christ?
  • How does it make you feel that Jesus’ sacrifice was more than enough?
  • What does it mean to be holy?
  • What must we do to “remain?”
  • Why is it so urgent that we be “grounded?”
