Friday First - Looking at the Glory of the Lord Part 2
During October we are focusing on Jesus in the present. He is always with us and He cares. The reality, privilege, and good news of the new covenant is that God is personally and intimately known to us by looking into the face of Jesus Christ. We look to Christ for salvation, sanctification, and spiritual growth. We have been called to be Christ focused. At all times in the Christian experience, the vision is Jesus.
Paul is one of the best examples of what it means to fix your eyes on Jesus. His devotion to Christ was the source of his strength and perseverance. This is where his courage and boldness came from. It is where his wisdom emanated. It is the same for us. By looking to Jesus we find strength for every issue. It is where we find grace for every need.
Last week we began this series by taking a look at what happens when we look to Christ, keeping our eyes fixed on Him. 2 Corinthians 3.18 says we find clarity. The veil has been removed. We see that God is able and trustworthy for all the issues of life. We also find transformation. As we look at the face of Jesus Christ we begin to become like Him. We move from one level of glory to another … higher and higher … increasingly becoming more like Him. And finally, we discover strength in 2 Corinthians 4.1. We do not give up. We do not surrender.
On Sunday, we will continue to focus on how looking at Jesus
As you prepare for worship, please think about these questions.

- Brings purity
- Displays the truth
As you prepare for worship, please think about these questions.
- How has the battle with impurity become so severe during our day?
- What is my attitude toward sin?
- How is Paul's commitment to repentance connected to his desire for purity?
- What impact does the truth have on our heart?
- Who is our judge? Why should we always keep this in mind?
