Friday First - Consider One Another
Sunday’s lesson will bring our series on Love in the Body to a close. We’ve spent the month talking about the essentiality of love. It is part of our spiritual DNA, having been poured into our heart in abundance by God on the occasion of our baptism, Romans 5.5. We have it, and the call is for us to put it in action. If we choose not to practice love, John says that we abide in death, 1 John 3.14. Therefore, we must pursue it, 1 Corinthians 14.1 and put it on, Colossians 3.14.
There may be no better passage to close our series with than the one we will examine Sunday, Hebrews 10.22-25. These verses describe the positive response to the doctrinal teaching of Hebrews 1.1-10.18. We must respond in faith (10.22), hope (10.23), and love (10.24). The majority of our time will be spent focusing on verses 24-25. What does it mean to consider one another? What can we do to provoke or stimulate our brothers and sisters to love and good works?
The New Testament provides us with the answers. As we close the lesson we will examine 20 different ways from 18 different passages that show us what loving our brothers and sisters looks like in every day life.
Our lesson Sunday will focus on:
