Friday First - It\'s All About the Gospel

This has been a whirlwind of a year and January has not been any different. Bad news, controversy and uncertainty hasn't been in short supply. If you want to find good news, sometimes you have to go digging. Good news isn't always sensational and divisive... in fact, sometimes it has amazing power to bring us together.

That's why just like Paul in Romans 1.16-17 we do not have to be ashamed of the gospel. The simple gospel is the most powerful message ever and it's at the center of everything that we do.  So, where did Paul get his confidence to say "I'm not ashamed?"

The gospel is never to be taken for granted, and always held up as our number one priority and hope.

This Sunday;
  • The simple saving power of the gospel (1.16a)
  • The reality that the gospel is for every one of us and our neighbors, too  (1.16b)
  • What it means to be committed to the gospel and keep moving forward in faith 1.17)
As you prepare for worship on Sunday, please give consideration to these questions:
  • What is the book of Romans about?
  • What is the basic central message of the gospel?
  • What does it mean that Christ lives in us?
  • Who do you know right now who needs Jesus?
  • What is your next step of faith?
