Friday First - Creating a Place to Heal

Page 2 of our Vision Plan contains three objectives on how to create a place to heal. We have been encouraged to see the amazing blessings we have in Christ. We have been challenged to serve by effectively providing help to those who struggle. And finally, we must share Jesus and the peace He brings. Did you catch the action words? We are to see, serve, and share. This is how we create a place of healing.

Romans 12.1-8 provides the scriptural blueprint. We surrender ourselves to God. We see where God has blessed us with our unique talents and abilities. We equip ourselves with the right attitude and perspective regarding ourselves and our brothers and sisters in the congregation.
And finally, we go to work.

The church is a place of action, not just talk.
On Sunday we’ll discuss:
  • How to present ourselves to God. (Spiritual dedication, 12.1-2)
  • Moving with the right perspective or attitude. (Spiritual attitude, 12.3-6a)
  • The need to go to work. (Spiritual service, 12.6b-8)

As you prepare for worship on Sunday, please give consideration to these questions:
  • For what purpose does God want to transform you?
  • How is false humility just as bad as selfish pride?
  • Who is the source of the gifts and talents you possess?
  • What are some things you can do to let others in the body know how much you value them?
  • What are the action words of 12.6b-8? What can we learn from them?
