Friday First - I'm in Prayer Every Day

In Ephesians 6.14-17 Paul details our spiritual armor. With it we are able to stand firm in every spiritual battle we face, 6.13. In 6.18-19 Paul mentions prayer. It is not an additional part of the armor we’ve been given … it is woven into our armor. We are to pray at all times.
How are you doing when it comes to prayer?

In private conversation, many admit they have need of making improvement in their prayer life. Many of our spiritual struggles may come as a result of not praying as we should. It has been said, prayer is like the air we breathe. Spiritually, we cannot live without it. Prayer is the power behind your spiritual armor.

May we move with the type of commitment that will possess the passionate, deep-longing, and yearning for God that is satisfied only in prayer.

On Sunday we’ll examine Ephesians 6.17-18 in detail and discuss:
  • The frequency of prayer
  • The variety of prayer
  • How to pray
  • The object of our prayer

As you prepare for worship on Sunday, please give consideration to these questions:
  1. How strong is your prayer life right now?
  2. How can you further incorporate prayer into your life right now?
  3. Why do we always need to be on watch?
  4. How can you more effectively practice praying for others?
  5. What does it mean to pray in the Spirit?
