Lesson 8 - A Word for the Weary
Oct 25, 2026 • Rich Walker, Hunter Davis
After a hard Sunday on gossip, this is the other side of the tongue. Proverbs says a rash word cuts like a sword and a good word lifts a weight off an anxious heart. Isaiah 50:4 tells you where such words come from. It is not where you would guess. The man whose tongue can sustain the weary gets his ear wakened every morning, not his mouth. The qualification for encouraging people is not being good with words. It is having listened. This lesson ends with every student writing one real note to one weary person. Delivering it is the week's assignment.
