THIS YEAR'S TOPIC:
Together we will survey the lives of men in the Bible whose entire life stories are featured as part of the story of God's redemption of mankind, from (usually miraculous) birth accounts to the record of their deaths. Each person is portrayed as doing things throughout their life that resemble our common struggle to live out God's calling. And, of course, it all ties together in the end when Jesus' life fulfills all the former blessed lives, beat for beat.
 Sessions
 1. Isaac: The Promise of Life
God far surpasses our expectations of the promise of life. Prepare to be surprised!
 2. Jacob: Safe Thus Far

Jacob's life is marked by continuing struggles and the imperfect ways he deals with them. His saving grace, and ours, is that God is striving with us, for our sake.
 3. Moses: The Servant of God
Great things were done through Moses because he was able to humble himself and say, "Thus says the Lord."
 4. Samson: And Great Was Its Fall
What happens when God's objectives and ours are mismatched? God can still manage to accomplish His work and bring us around in the end.
 5. Samuel: The Closer

A young man, raised in righteousness, must call out corruption on the hardest field of spiritual correction: an older mentor. Every generation has some restoration work to do, and Samuel is a fine example to follow.
 6. John the Baptist: The Forerunner

It was John's sole task to point the way to Jesus, and then get out of the way. His mission is a model for us all.
 7. Jesus Christ: The All in All

Every life is reviewed to show how it foreshadows the life of Jesus, tying it to direct references to Christ as its fulfillment in the New Testament.
