Lesson 5: Grace Changes Everything
May 18, 2026 • Matthew Allen, Greg Morrison
Lesson 5 confronts the version of grace most new Christians inherit — the one where God forgives you and then quietly hands the Christian life back to you. The New Testament doesn't talk about grace that way. Ephesians 2 calls grace the ground you stand on — a floor you can't fall through — and Titus 2 calls grace the engine that's moving you, instructing, training, forming. When Paul anticipates the obvious question — can I just coast? — his answer in Romans 6 isn't God will be angry; it's you died to sin, and going back to what you died to doesn't fit who you are anymore. Transformation comes by degree, not by floodlight: the same grace that covered you is the one that's changing you, and will finish you.
