Lesson 4: Listening to God

May 11, 2026    Matthew Allen

Nobody warns you that the Bible is going to feel like a stranger's mail at first.

You crack it open expecting a voice — a nudge, a verse that lights up, a quiet sense that God is speaking to you specifically — and what you get is reading. Names you can't pronounce. A long stretch about somebody's tent. Most new Christians read that experience as evidence they're doing something wrong.

They're not.

In this lesson, we'll talk about what God actually meant the Bible to do, why the dry days aren't what you think they are, and the three simple habits that turn reading into listening. Bring your honest experience. There's room for it.
