Week 2 - King of Kings
Jun 8, 2025 • Roger Robins, Jim Rutter
Psalm 2 proclaims the unshakable reign of God’s Anointed King, Jesus Christ, over rebellious nations, urging us to trust and worship Him to find refuge in His eternal Kingdom.
Following Psalm 1’s focus on the “assembly of the righteous” (Psalm 1:5), Psalm 2 expands to the cosmic scope of God’s Kingdom, depicting the rebellion of nations against His Anointed King and God’s decree to establish His Son’s universal dominion. In this lesson, we will examine the four-part structure of Psalm 2, its historical context as a coronation psalm, and its prophetic fulfillment in Jesus, as evidenced by New Testament quotations, which encourage submission to His kingship.
