Week 5 - The Patriarchs: Isaac, Jacob, Joseph

Jan 3, 2024    Roger Robins

Abraham had a full life, but never saw any of the promises come to pass. Now, the promises were handed down to his descendants. Of that, the Hebrew writer includes Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph in his great hall of fame of faith. Each of these men, like Abraham, died in faith, although they had not received the things that were promised. But they saw them from a distance, greeted them, and confessed that they were foreigners and temporary residents on the earth, Hebrews 11.13. They were so confident in their faith that they passed these promises on. They did not die in despair over unfulfilled dreams. They trusted that the promises would come - because they believed in God.
