Week 3: God's Wisdom in Prison
Sep 20, 2026 • George Wacks, Jason Schofield
Genesis 40 is the chapter where nothing happens to Joseph. Two of Pharaoh's officials land in the same prison, dream on the same night, and wake up frightened — and the Hebrew slave assigned to wait on them tells both men exactly what's coming, right down to the day. One goes back to work with a cup in his hand. The other is hanged on a tree. Joseph, who has done everything right and asks only to be remembered, ends the chapter precisely where he began, and the man who owes him walks out into the daylight and forgets him for two years. This lesson sits in that gap, because God's wisdom shows up here long before God's rescue does.
