Week 7: Judah's Plea
Oct 18, 2026 • George Wacks, Jason Schofield
The brothers head home with full sacks and every problem apparently solved, until a silver cup turns up in Benjamin's bag. Joseph has rebuilt the scene at Dothan almost exactly. There's a father waiting at home, Rachel's favored son is in the hands of strangers, and ten brothers are free to walk away. This time they could even tell their father the plain truth. Nobody leaves. Judah steps forward and gives the longest speech in Genesis. He never once mentions the cup, and he can't stop talking about their father. Then the man who once sold his brother for twenty shekels asks to stay behind as a slave in Benjamin's place. Part Two has asked whether guilty men can change, and this is where we get our answer.
