CT066 - What Jesus Says About Divorce

Two of the shortest verses in the Sermon on the Mount carry some of its heaviest weight. In today's episode, Matthew Allen walks through Matthew 5:31–32 — the passage where Jesus pulls back a generation that had quietly turned the Mosaic certificate of divorce into a permission slip and points them all the way back to Genesis 2 for the floor under everything he is about to say.

Here, Jesus is holding the seriousness of the covenant in one hand and the mercy of the kingdom in the other, refusing to drop either. The closing question is for all of us — which hand are we tempted to drop?
