Week 9: Love That Teaches

Oct 28, 2026  •  Hunter Davis

Crete was a hard place to plant a church, and Paul's plan for it was teaching. Older women were to teach younger women how to love their families. Older men were to show younger men what lasting faith looks like, and young Titus was to teach with his life before he taught with his mouth. Behind all of it stands the grace of God, which has appeared in Christ. That grace pardons, and it also trains. It teaches Christians to refuse what pulls them away from God and to live sensibly, rightly, and in a godly way while they wait for His return. The lesson goes to Jericho, where grace stopped under a sycamore tree and invited itself to dinner before Zacchaeus had changed a thing. Then it watches what that grace taught him.
