Week 10: Love in Relationships
Nov 4, 2026 • Matthew Allen, Jim Grushon
Most Christians can manage a kind week. The real test of love comes years later, with the same brother in the same pew. Colossians 3 treats the Christian life as a change of clothes. Those raised with Christ take off the old self and put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Each of these garments is worn toward another person. Paul tells God's chosen and dearly loved people to bear with one another and to forgive as the Lord forgave them. Over everything they wear goes love, which holds a congregation together the way ligaments hold a body. The lesson ends at the cross. The soldiers gambled for Jesus's clothes while He prayed for them. At the same time He gave His mother and His friend to each other as family.
