Week 8: Nehemiah: A Heart to Build

Jan 21, 2026    Matthew Allen

Nehemiah’s story is one of leadership rooted in compassion, prayer, and faith. When he heard that Jerusalem’s walls were broken and its gates burned, his heart broke for his people. Though living comfortably as a royal cupbearer in Persia, Nehemiah couldn’t ignore what was happening in God’s city. His burden led to prayer, and his prayer led to action. This lesson reminds us that spiritual rebuilding always begins in the heart. God still calls His people to see the needs around them and to respond with vision, courage, and dependence on Him.
