Immanuel: The Gift of God With Us
This sermon centers on the truth that the greatest gift the church has ever received is not what Christ gives, but Christ Himself. Tracing the promise of Immanuel from Isaiah to its fulfillment in Matthew, the lesson shows that God’s answer to human fear, failure, and separation has always been His presence. Spoken into the fear and unbelief of King Ahaz, the Immanuel promise reveals that God comes near not as a reward for faithfulness, but as a response to human weakness. In Jesus, God entered our condition, took on flesh, and lived among us so that He might save His people from their sins. The sermon concludes by reminding the church that Immanuel did not end at the manger—Christ remains present with His people today, filling His church and sustaining its mission, so that believers can worship, serve, and face the future with confidence, knowing that God is truly with us.
