The Invitation of the King
Jul 20, 2025 • Matthew Allen
In Matthew 22:1-14, Jesus tells a parable about a royal wedding feast that powerfully illustrates the nature of God’s Kingdom. The King invites guests to celebrate His Son, but many reject the invitation—some with indifference, others with hostility. Still, the King’s grace extends to the unexpected, welcoming both the “good and evil” to fill His house. Yet even those who accept the call must come on the King’s terms—clothed in righteousness, not self-reliance. This message reminds us that the Kingdom is a joyful, gracious celebration—but it also demands a genuine response. You can’t crash the Kingdom. You must be invited, and you must be clothed in Christ.
