Lesson 1 - Introduction & Background

The epistles were likely written toward the end of the 1st century. Most scholars claim the writings were written between 90 AD and 100 AD, close to the same time period as the gospel of John. While there is no clear evidence as to whom he addresses in these epistles, they may have been written to Christians throughout Asia Minor. Tradition tells us that John wrote these books from Ephesus.
