Week 9 - How to Handle Conflict Biblically

Feb 1, 2026    Mark Ringle

Conflict is an unavoidable part of life, even within the church. But while conflict is inevitable, division is not. Jesus taught His followers in Matthew 18:15-17 how to address disagreements with humility and truth, beginning privately and aiming always for restoration. Paul reinforces this in Ephesians 4:1-3, reminding believers that peace requires effort, patience, and love. The goal of biblical conflict resolution is not to win arguments but to win hearts, to preserve unity and strengthen relationships within the body of Christ. When we handle conflict with grace, we reveal the transforming power of the gospel and protect the unity of the Spirit that binds us together.
