Week 24: Finishing the Story - Trusting the King Until the End
This final lesson brings the entire book to a close. Instead of one continuous story, these chapters give us a series of snapshots—David’s mighty men, a song of praise, final reflections, and one last failure with lasting consequences. At first glance, it can feel disconnected. But it’s not.
These chapters function like a summary and evaluation of David’s reign. We see strength, loyalty, worship, failure, judgment, repentance, and restoration—all placed side by side. That’s intentional. The message is clear: David was a great king, but not a perfect one. His life points beyond himself to a greater King—one who would come from his line and succeed where he fell short. This lesson helps us step back and see the big picture. Not just of David’s life—but of what God has been doing all along.
