Borrowed Time

What Jesus describes in verses Luke 13:1-2 has always perplexed me. We don’t have a lot of details. What we do have says that blood flowing down from the altar for sacrifices mingled with the blood of those slain. It must have been a surprise attack by Pilate’s men. And what happened at this event would have been known by everyone. This did not happen because these people were worse sinners than other Galileans. Bad things happen — and they happen to good people and bad people. The issue is not how you die; the real calamity, however, is that if you die without repenting.
