Week 2 | A New Leader Emerges

As the book of Joshua opens, a new generation has come to the scene and now faces fresh and daunting challenges under a new leader. Joshua and Israel stand on the east side of the Jordan read to cross over and invade the west side. Joshua 1 contains three sets of speeches. The chapter is dominated by the themes of faithful leadership, receiving the promised land, and obedience to God. While drawing off the books of Law, these values also signal a watershed moment opening a new chapter in the life of Israel.
