Friday First - I'm in the Word Everyday

What does victorious faith look like en everyday life? During November we're talking about how we can invite the Spirit's lead into our life and surrender to his instruction through the word. Our aim is to become more like Jesus. To help facilitate this, we're making our sermon series as practical as possible. We want you to get excited about your spiritual life and know that when you begin and end each day that you're making progress toward the goal of being conformed to the image of Christ.
On Sunday we'll be in 2 Timothy 3.10-17 and discuss the role of God in our sanctification. God's word is vital in our transformation. We cannot be changed without it. As God's sons and daughters, we are a people of the book. We meet Jesus in the book. We see the cross in the book. We grow our faith and love by the glorious truths of the book. We believe what the book teaches matters. And, as a congregation, we are committed to making it more and more a part of our life ... because we know it leads us closer to God. See Psalm 119.105; 114; Proverbs 6.23.
On Sunday we will:
  • Look at the context leading up to the main part in v. 15-17.
  • Discover two reasons why we need to be in the word.
  • Discover why the scriptures have power.
As you prepare for Sunday's service, please focus on these questions:
  1. What is something every Christian should expect to receive?
  2. Who taught Timothy the Sacred Scriptures?
  3. What does it mean that the Scriptures are inspired?
  4. How do the Scriptures provide us with doctrine?
  5. How do the Scriptures straighten us out?
