Friday First - Holy Confidence

Every morning at the start of our day, most of us stand square with a mirror. We probably take this moment for granted...but there's an opportunity for us to do a little bit of self reflection. Literally. "Who am I?" Questions of identity and purpose are of great importance to us because we were designed with an inner quest for assurance and confidence.
The world says the answer to this appetite  for confidence is to build more and more self-esteem. To invest more in self, "to be the best you," or "live your best life," whatever that may mean. Sadly, looking inward for answers only leads to more questions. Only looking upward will give us real peace.
Real confidence is found in the God that holds the entire universe together. "From everlasting to everlasting, you are God..." He was and is and ever will be. (Psalm 90.2) When we cast off our notions of self-development, self-esteem and ego as being first in priority...then we will find God and we will know real confidence.

On Sunday we'll grab hold of the confidence that comes from Heaven and talk about;
  • The faulty and broken gospel of self
  • The confidence that comes from knowing God
  • Living an unapologetically redeemed life for Christ

As you prepare for worship on Sunday, please give consideration to these questions:
  • What happens when we look to ourselves for the answers to life?
  • Who is the God of Heaven and why should we put our confidence in Him?
  • What does God see when he sees his children?
  • How should we live if we have been redeemed?
  • Where can we get the confidence to bring our faith into every corner of our lives?
